Nice constuction/interface/sound quality. I was just in for a surprise on the negative side when I found out that this boombox lacks remote control function, something very easy to build into the system. Also, does it have to be so red. I wish it was like maybe dark blue, black, or even dark green, but bright red.
I bought this to replace a very old Sony Portable player we used primarily in the backyard. The LCD screens quickly lost digits and quit displaying. This seemed like the perfect unit to have outside.It does sound good, but build quality is dismal. It won't pick up radio stations at even half the strength of the old smaller system I had. It won't retain the Radio presets. It truly was a big dissappointment.The old Sony worked for YEARS - this one hasn't lasted one year before having all these issues.
Water gets in some of the ports even with it under a roof over hang here in Portland,rainy/green Oregon and I called Sony and they could have cared less. It lived less than 2 years. The sound was great.
Amazon had this to me overnight for just a few dollars shipping using their Amazon Prime membership. I read a lot of reviews about this boombox and it is very sturdy and sounds great. You should not be disappointed with it.
Could not be happier. I was looking for a good radio to bring to the park while I workout and play basketball. The construction was so impressive. I wanted a loud boom box that played mp3 cds. I had a few choices, but i decided to just bite the bullet and get this one. They are not kidding about this thing being heavy duty for a plastic unit.If you are looking for a mp3 cd boombox to bring to the park, this is the unit to get. Period.
